Let Brave Dave lead the way whilst you ascend the bouldered monster that is Tryfan, and then continue up on to the mighty Glyders via Bristly Ridge, in one epic day out of scrambling. Perch awkwardly on top of the Cannon Stone, jump between Adam and Eve (optional), get a photo on the Cantilever Rock, and explore the Castle of the Winds! Come and experience one of the best circuits in Snowdonia!
This really is a "Big Day Out"! Tryfan itself is basically one great big scramble, and that's only part of the circuit that I'll lead you around! We'll also ascend Bristly Ridge, and cross over the Glyders, passing by landmarks such as the Cantilever Stone, and the Castle of the Winds.
We'll aim to set off up Tryfan around 09:00. This is a long day on the mountains. A typical time is around 8 hours, though the longest I have led a group on this route before was 12 hours!
There is a LOT of scrambling on this adventure. I actually recommend that you book a "Crib Goch and Snowdon" Big Day Out with me before this one if you're not very experienced with scrambling. This lets me gauge your ability and allows you to experience scrambling before being thrown in at the deep end.
A reasonable level of fitness is required for this day out, and some previous experience with scrambling is also highly recommended. However, I have led beginners around this route before and they did just fine (albeit very slow and steady) so it's perfectly doable.
