Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in Scotland, the United Kingdom, and the British Isles. Ben Nevis stands at the western end of the Grampian Mountains in the Highland region of Lochaber, close to the town of Fort William. Beginners can successfully climb Ben Nevis via the Mountain Path with proper preparation. However, those attempting more technical routes should have prior climbing experience and possibly a guide. Always carry appropriate gear, including maps, a compass, food, water, and clothing for changing weather.
